With the holidays right around the corner, we are all looking for The Best Holiday Recipes. These recipes are not only some of the best I’ve tried but also, Toddler-Approved. Finding a delicious recipe that your toddler will eat is extremely difficult. Now finding a recipe your PICKY toddler will eat is nearly impossible. Do not fret! Here is my tried and true list of some of the best recipes. We’ve enjoyed these Toddler Approved Recipes for the Holidays without a fit, tantrum or any resistance!
1.)Perfectly Juicy Poultry Brine
This recipe comes from “Smokin and Grillin with AB”. When I say this recipe is good, I mean it is GOOD! I’ve chosen to use this recipe for Cornish hens for Christmas but it is delicious on Chicken also. I can imagine how delicious it would be on a turkey but if doing a turkey I would definitely consider doubling the recipe. Your bird(s) will come out Tender and delicious. My toddlers aren’t the biggest protein eaters but the flavor from this brine made the Adults come back for more and the children nearly speechless.
2.) Best-Ever Mac n Cheese
Another delicious recipe by ” Smokin and Grillin with AB”, when I tell you his Mac n cheese is the BEST! I’m not lying. Now s much as I’d like to say I found this recipe on my own, a dear family friend told me about it. And I haven’t looked back since. It is flavorful, creamy and very beginner friendly. This recipe is the one to bring to the potluck at work, Friendsgiving or to impress your in laws with. If you want to sneak a little vegetable in there, I like to add a half cup of steamed and puréed butternut squash! This way my kids are enjoying a delicious meal while getting some added nutrients.
3.) Buttery Herb Stuffing
When I say show stopper! I mean it, I’m not a stuffing girl. I honestly don’t like my food touching, so if you invite me to a Holiday party, you will never see me dipping my roll in the juice of a freshly cooked turkey or gravy. That’s just not me, but back to the point. This recipe changed my mind about stuffing, the flavors are RICH, the stuffing is Aromatic and my toddlers enjoyed it! If that’s not enough to convince you, it’s also pretty easy! A mix ingredients together, set it and forget it kind of recipe! This is a recipe that is simple yet impressive!
4.) Soft Dinner Rolls
Natasha’s Kitchen Soft Dinner Rolls. Sounds basic but these are so delicious, they are for sure something that requires patience and planning as they will take a little over 3 hours to make. Despite the time commitment, this is the perfect recipe to allow little hands to help prepare! Kneading is a great time to allow your little helper(s) to join you in the kitchen and make memories. You’ll love watching them learn about delayed gratification through the hefty wait of kneading to eating these fluffy delicious rolls. I personally have tried many recipes from Natasha’s Kitchen and they have all been delicious and she breaks steps down to help you succeed. Definitely worth trying this one! Side note: I like to make a compound butter to accompany these rolls, Chef’s kiss! YUM!
5.) Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Last but absolutely not least. In Bloom Bakery’s Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies are AMAZING! These cookies are by far a staple in our as of the last couple months, since I discovered them. We all love them, we might overindulge on them actually. If you like rich chocolate and a soft cookie this is the best cookie recipe, I’ve ever made. My toddlers love these without salt, and the Hubby and I enjoy them with some Maldon Salt Flakes sprinkled on top. Our toddler love being apart of the rolling process before placing them in the oven. These cookies are perfect to gift to your guest or host. They are also perfect for an end note to a holiday meal or can be left out with a glass of milk for Santa (if that’s apart of your families traditions). Whatever you choose, these cookies are Tried and Truly Delicious!
No matter what Holiday or Occasion you are celebrating I swear the are some of The Best Holiday Recipes I’ve ever tried, I hope they make your Holiday that much more special and give your little one something to enjoy during the feast.
Happy Cooking,
xx Classically xx
