True Made Foods Ketchup
If your picky eater enjoys ketchup the way mine do, this is the easiest and simplest way to introduce fruits and veggies into their meal. My little ones enjoy ketchup on nearly everything and I am happy to give it to them with True Made Foods Ketchup. With a short and clean list of ingredients, I don’t feel guilty for letting my kids over indulge in dipping their lunch or dinner into this. Sugar-free and made with Apples, Butternut Squash, Carrots and Spinach! It is a huge WIN! Sold at Walmart and on Amazon.
Siete Tortilla Chips
Made with lots of good stuff, Cassava flour, avocado oil, sea salt. Who can tell the difference I sure can’t. The perfect base for Family Nacho night or just a light snack of chips and dip or guacamole! These chips are a delicious swap and healthy because they are not deep fried in seed oils which are inflammatory. Whether you are concerned about all aspects of clean eating or just want to help get better quality snacks in the hands of your picky eater. You can’t go wrong with Siete Tortilla Chips. Sold at most grocery stores but we get ours from Costco!
Nectar Hydration Packets
A great swap for sugary juices. Sugar-free, zero calorie powder to add to your picky eaters water! If your child isn’t a lover of water, this is for them! I get it water can be boring, jazz up the water with a little nectar hydration. The packets add just that perfect hint of flavor to the water without powdery taste or texture. My little ones love it, I love it too. Perfect for on the go and those long days at the zoo or at the pool. Please note Nectar is marketed as safe for children, but always check with your child’s doctor before giving a hydration supplement. I’ve personally only found them on Amazon but may be sold in your local grocery store.
Bee Keeper’s Natural Throat Soothing Lollipops
Forget the sugar filled lollipops! Swap their regular sweet treat with these! They are intended to soothe the throat when followed up by a few sprays of The Bee Keeper’s Propolis Spray. The Lollipops alone though are filled with ingredients to support the immune system! From Vitamin D, Honey and Zinc! Also something else I love is these are flat and round, if you’ve ever felt concerned about the little round ball of a Dum Dum lollipop falling off and being a choking hazard. These will give you quite a bit more peace of mind. Last but not least this made it on my The best healthy swaps for picky eaters: store-bought, clean swaps they’ll actually eat because of the Sugar content, with just under 2 grams of sugar! This is the win you and your kiddo NEED!
Anything Simple Mills
More Specifically Simple Mill’s Pop Mmms (Cheddar), forget all the other cheese crackers in the store and grab these! They are light, airy, non-GMO, and most importantly their first ingredient is Butternut Squash! Is your picky eater happily and easily eating Butternut squash? If so, Awesome! If not, then grab these, swap them out for those goldfish. The flavor and texture are there, the only thing that is missing are all the additives and preservatives our bodies don’t need. These can be purchased from Costco, Amazon and most grocery stores. Not only are these specific crackers delicious and nutrient dense but so are many other Simple Mills products. If you need a brand you can trust, I’d encourage you to bet on Simple Mills!
Here I have just provided you with The best healthy swaps for picky eaters: store-bought, clean swaps they’ll actually eat! You may notice that the cleaner options can be more expensive than the items you would typically buy. But I want to encourage you that when you pay a little more now, you may save a lot more later. What am I saying you may ask? I’d rather you spend more now with more nutrient filled food, then to have to spend the money later on medicines and doctors visits due to issues evolved due to poor nutrition. Lastly Always look for sales on the healthier Items. I’ve found that Whole Foods has sales on these items often. And As I was writing this the Simple Mills Pop mmms were on sale for $2.49 a box at a local grocery Store! Healthy isn’t always expensive!
I’d also like to share one last way to help picky eaters get better nutrients into their system! Through vitamins. We give our children Llama Natural’s Multivitamin (not sponsored or anything just sharing), Pre/Pro-biotic and Immunity Support Gummies! We tried Hiya Vitamins but all though they were full of nutrients, my kids didn’t enjoy the sweet tart like taste or texture of them. Then tried First Day vitamins, there wasn’t anything specific we didn’t like but they got sticky and we couldn’t tell if they went bad or not so we just moved on.
After finding Llama Natural’s and continuing to have our subscription delivered monthly as they are only sold online. Our pickiest eater didn’t like the smell or texture of them, the first three or four days. Then grew to love and request them each morning! These vitamins are filled with nutrients from Whole Fruits and Vegetables, are sugar free and have no synthetic ingredients! If your picky eater tries them and they don’t like them, they have a 30-day money back guarantee! So there is no-risk in trying them!
As always, I’m looking out for the Mama’s and their babies! If you try any of these swaps please comment on if they were picky eaters approved for your family!
