Here is a list of 9 of the Best Interactive books for toddlers. These books are not only engaging but create opportunities for toddlers to interact with the story of each book.
1.) The Pout Pout Fish
A sweet book on a fish the can’t seem to stop pouting, Mr.Fish thinks that he is meant to spread the “dreary-wearies”. A book filled with rhyming as his friends question why he is so pouty. Then later comes to the realization that he is meant for so much more. This short story is repetitive, and gives the reader or listener the opportunity to join in, in the repetition. It has a positive message as in the end, Mr.Fish comes to the realization the that he can spread “Cheer-Cheeries(Joy and Happiness)!
2.) Good Night Little Blue Truck
A personal favorite of mine, a story of friends coming together in “any weather”. During a thunder storm they seek shelter together with Little Blue Truck & Good Friend Toad. After the storm is over, they all get ready for bed as Little Blue Truck & Toad drop them off to their beds. This is rhyme filled book, perfect for getting your little one ready to settle down and sleep for the night.
3.) Little Seed
Little seed is tiny but has a lot of love to give, this book is all about ways to show love! He goes on an adventure to show love and care to the world. Ultimately, this book is about noticing how others receive love and to give love to others accordingly. I love this because the book even goes to mentions “How to Hug an Armadillo who just want to be alone?”, and it goes on to say, ” You don’t. You give space.” a perfect way of teaching the importance of boundaries even in love!
4.) Too Many Carrots
Highly interactive book as there are a few words that are repeated with emphasis. The is story about a Rabbit who has a love, and quite possibly and obsession with carrots. This leads to Rabbit becoming greedy, careless and inconsiderate about others. After his journey with friends who have tried to help him, Rabbit realizes that life is better when he SHARES. This book has a great message about the importance of not taking more than you need for yourself, but the gift of sharing and having those in your life to share with!
5.) Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?
A classic from when I was a child and still a classic today for my children! One of the Best Interactive books for children even before they begin speaking. 7.) Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
A super fun book about the Alphabets racing to the top of a coconut tree. This book helps the reader or listener to learn the alphabets in a fun way. The letters are rushing to the get to the top of the tree in alphabetical order but just as soon as they all are about to reach the top, they begin to fall down! Super creative, fun and interactive for little readers or learners!
8.) Good Night Moon
This one is extremely interactive as little ones can look for what is mentioned in the book. The booj is staged in a green room, that has different objects mentioned on each page. The story is about saying good night to everything in the room. Very simple but definitely gives children the opportunity to seek and find and be more involved in the book!

Is is a song? Is it a story? It’s hard to say. I’ve heard to book read and sung! In our home we read it rhythmically, which comes out sounding like a song.
