Trust me when I say this is “Your New Favorite French Toast” not only will your kids enjoy this breakfast but you will too!
This recipe is a staple in our home, my oldest requests this nearly every week, honestly sometimes multiple times a week. It has everything you love about the traditional french toast but because I swap out sugar for maple syrup this recipe ends up being more nutrient dense for my family.
Healthier Version of your favorite recipe
I won’t call this a “healthy” french toast recipe but I will call it a Better version of traditional french toast. Just by swapping out sugar for pure maple the recipe now has minerals you just wouldn’t get from sugar such as Calcium, Iron, Manganese, Magnesium, Zinc, Potassium and believe it or not even more! Read more about it for yourself here.
Prep Ahead & Freeze
Besides this being a “better” breakfast option, it is also freezer proof recipe. Feeling up to the challenge of making a couple loaves of bread into this french toast, by all means. After the french toast has cooled lay a piece of parchment paper between each piece of toast and place flat into a gallon zip lock bag. Remove as much air as possible to reduce freezer burn. This should hold up about 1 month in the freezer. You can pull it our for a Breakfast for Dinner night and place these onto a cookie sheet and place them in the oven on 350 degrees for about 10 min, and they taste almost as good as fresh. I’m not going to lie to you nothing taste as good as fresh but these taste pretty close!
Lastly, when it comes to toppings you can’t go wrong. My family loves Pure Maple Syrup or Honey drizzled on top, garnished with hemp hearts. This recipe is perfect for everyday and would be a lovely staple for Christmas or Christmas Eve Morning.
